Know your limits

What do you want to become in life? As a youth by now you should be thinking seriously of your future. The sad thing is that some youth get so carried away with being youth that they get ‘left behind’. What do I mean? As friends, we all have fun together and sometimes it appears that no-one is taking life serious.

But the test is at exams. Gradually, as the years roll by it becomes obvious those who will make it through life and those who are enjoying life too much to make it through life. Have fun, be youth and be carefree, but be careful to know you won’t be youth forever. Look around you, are you on course with some of your high performing friends to go successfully from high school to college or Uni? Or are you hanging out with a bunch of losers who have no aspiration beyond the present day they live in?

I have seen many a talented young people ship-wrecking their lives due to either bad company or the lack of ability to strike a balance between work and play. Know your strength and weaknesses. There are some that can play year round and still somehow pass their exams, if you are not one of those then don’t try to do what they do. Know your limit – have fun but work hard at your studies also.
